Funeral services for Christine Ann Wheeler, age 83, will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church near Oglala, SD with Reverend Simon Looking Elk and Elder Donovan Youngman officiating.
Burial will be at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 3:00 PM on Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at the Makasan Presbyterian Church Hall near Oglala, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.
Christine was born on December 12, 1934 in Oglala, SD to Dave Garnier and Ellen (Spotted Elk) Garnier. She passed away on April 17, 2018 at the Oglala Sioux Lakota Nursing Home near White Clay, NE.
Christine is survived by children Kenneth “Ted” Prairie Chicken of Rapid City, SD and Eldonna Prairie of Denver, CO; siblings Madeline Terry of Oglala, SD, Pauline (Garnier) Her Many Horses of Oglala, SD, Louise Jumping Eagle of Rapid City, SD, and Susie Tail of Cheyenne, WY; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Christine was preceded in death by parents Dave and Ellen Garnier; spouse Johnny Wheeler; siblings Dirk Garnier, Effie (Andrews) Garnier, and Naomi Garnier; and children Blaine Prairie, Marty Prairie, and Valerie Brewer.
