04/28/2018 - Elva Marie “Kim” Wounded Horse

Funeral services for 66-year old Elva Marie “Kim” Wounded Horse, also known as Rena White Face, will be Saturday, April 28, at 1:00 at the Body of Christ Church in Porcupine, S.D., with the Reverend Wendell Ghost Bear and Reverend Bill Quijas officiating.

Burial will be at the Body of Christ Church Cemetery in Porcupine.

A one-night wake service will start at 1:00 pm Friday, April 27, also at the Body of Christ Churches

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, S.D., is in charge of arrangements

Elva Marie Wounded Horse was born on January 25, 1952 to Olson and Aggie (White Face) Wounded Horse in Pine Ridge, SD. Elva made her journey to the Spirit World on April 21, 2018 in Wheat Ridge, CO.

Elva is survived by her children, Albert Frank Bonin (Maricar), Willie John Wounded Horse (Shelly) and Abraham Thunder Hawk; grandchildren, Kelsey D. Bonin, Chloe L. Bonin, Brandon Wounded Horse, Hunter Pierce, Kimberly Weston, Cheyenne Weston, Katerri Weston, Justis Weston, Jamie Weston, Victoria Weston, Brianna Weston, Stephanie Weston-Sorbel, Jory Weston, Brady Weston, Michael Brave and Dustin Baxter, Jr.; brothers, Wendell W. Ghost Bear (Mary), William T. Quijas, Alex Thunder Hawk (Iona), Joseph “Mickey” Thunder Hawk (Rose), Conrad Thunder Hawk, Donovan Thunder Hawk (Cynthia), Dale B. Two Eagles, Lupey Quivas and Francis Black Feather; sisters, Annabelle M. Weston, Twila L. Black Feather, Dolores L. Finnie (Paul), Sterlene Sitting Hawk and Molly Sun Bear/Turner; nieces, Troylynn Weston, Yolanda Wolkins, Ahakela Martinez, Tammy Killsmall, Tiffany Killsmall, Jenny Hill, Allison Two Eagles, Lisa Two Eagles, Marilyn Finnie and Jane Marie Red Owl; and nephews, Darvis Weston, Terry Weston, Jr., William Ghost Bear, Wade Ghost Bear, Weston Ghost Bear, Bernard Friday, Vine White Face, Vern Robertson, Toka Thunder Hawk, Derek Esparza, Ryan Esparza, Orlando Finnie, Paul Finnie, Cory Finnie and Kevin Finnie.

Elva was preceded in death by her parents, Olson and Aggie Wounded Horse; partner, Jerry Holt; grandparents, Willie White Face and Eunice B. Two Eagles On White Star/White Face; brothers, Abraham Rex White Face/Clincher and Olson Wounded Horse, Jr.; sister-in-law, Rachel Mousseaux/Clincher; nephew, Abraham, Jr.; sisters, Lena “Penny” Johnson, and Mary & Belva Thunder Hawk; uncles/aunts, Agnes White Face/Jealous of Him, Hobart and Effie White Face, Hattie Mary White Face, Hannah Berdine and Francis Black Feather, Loucille and Andrew Thunder Hawk, and Ramona and Oliver Sun Bear, Sr.
