Funeral services for 68-year old Abraham Leroy Tobacco “Wanbli Wicasa” will be Friday, May 4, 2018, at 11:00 AM at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD.

Officiating will be Apostle Keith Rich, Apostle Wendell Ghost Bear, Apostle Pedro Sharpfish, and Elder Emerson Little Elk

Burial services will be at the Payaba Cemetery in #4 Community, SD

A two-night wake service will be held starting Wednesday, May 2, at 3:00 in Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD

Abraham Leroy Tobacco was born on May 31, 1949 at home in Calico, SD to Rudolph Tobacco and Iva Black Elk.  Abraham made his journey to the Spirit World on April 25, 2018 at the Custer Regional Care Center in Custer, SD.

Abraham is survived by his children, Amber (Larry) Lame, Matthew (Alycia) Tobacco, DaJuanna (Rocky) Bissonette, and Bobette (Jamie) Stead all of Pine Ridge, SD, Gloria Tobacco of Rosebud, SD, Hattie Tobacco of Kyle, SD, and Deidree Blacksmith of Sioux Falls, SD; hunka daughters, Rhonda Akers, Tessie Ribitsch, Anna White Bull, Shanna Brown, Rosemary Horn, and Shawnee Steele all of Pine Ridge, SD;

Siblings, Lillian Tobacco, Esther Black Elk, Goldie Tobacco all of #4 Community, Lisa Jo Mason of Gillette, WY, Phyllis Tobacco of Oglala, SD; hunka sisters, Genevieve Ribitsch of #4 Community and Susan Hudspeth of Pine Ridge, SD; hunka mothers, Cecelia Martin, Eleanor Charging Crow, Lydia Haas, Nellie Buckman, Pearl Dixon, Emma Waters, and Bertha Brave Heart.

Abraham was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph Tobacco and Iva Black Elk; daughter, Iris Tobacco; brothers, Gary Tobacco, Ole Tobacco, and Antoine Tobacco; sisters, Eva Tobacco and Ethel Tobacco; grandson, Nicholas Bissonette; uncle, Wilson Black Elk; and hunka moms, Elizabeth Around Him, Cecelia Martin, Lydia Haas and Pearl Dixon.

Pallbearers will be Larry Lame, Rocky Bissonette, Joe Herman, Wade Ghost Bear, Derreck Left Hand, Donovan Steele, Joe Red Star, Jr., Preston Good Voice Flute, Jerrod Two Bulls, Jordan Tobacco, Sgt. Joe Bissonette and Byron Roach.
