Funeral services for Ruth Ellen Stone, age 76, of Eudora, KS, formerly of Hay Springs, NE, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 12, 2018 at Lawrence Free Methodist Church in Lawrence, KS.
Burial will follow at Hesper Cemetery in Eudora, KS.
The family will greet friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Friday, May 11, 2018 at Warren-McElwain Mortuary in Lawrence, KS. A memorial has been established for the Lawrence Free Methodist World Missions. Contributions may be sent in care of Warren-McElwain Mortuary, 120 West 13th St., Lawrence, KS 66044. Ruth passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at her home. She was born November 11, 1941 in Hay Springs, NE, the daughter of Ernest and Alzina (Gillett) Coleman. She graduated from Hay Springs High School and Chadron State College She was an elementary school teacher and taught many years in several rural schools in Sheridan County, NE.
She married Herbert Stone on June 27, 1971 in Gardner, KS. Survivors include husband Herbert of Eudora, KS; son Roger (Evangeline) Stone; grandchildren Mika Stone and Daniel Stone; sisters Rose Eckert and Annie Wadsworth; and brothers James Coleman and Steve Coleman.
She was preceded in death by sister Elsie Cate and brothers William Coleman, Ralph Coleman, Ernest Coleman, and John Coleman.
