Funeral services for Vestana Eloise Two Lance, age 88, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, May 26, 2018 at the C-Bear Memorial Gym in Batesland, SD with Reverend Cordelia Red Owl, Reverend Rhoda Mesteth, Father Ed Hunt, Senior Catechist Ben Conquering Bear, and Lay Reader Anthony Wounded Head officiating.
Burial will be at the Two Lance Family Cemetery in Gordon Junction, SD.
A two-night wake service will run from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at St. Michael’s Episcopal Church in Batesland, SD and moving to the C-Bear Memorial Gym for all night wake services starting at 7:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, May 24 and 25, 2018. Episcopal services will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, May 25, 2018.
Vestana was born on November 16, 1929 in Kyle, SD to Paul and Nellie (One Feather) Red Owl. She passed away surrounded by her family on May 18, 2018 at her home at Gordon Junction.
Vestana is survived by children Sandy Two Lance, Wilson “Buzi” Two Lance Sr. of Las Vegas, NV, Connie (Don) LeBeau, Cleo (Rick) Palmier, Marquise Two Lance, and Marquita Two Lance, Stacy (Chris) Brooks, Vincent “Woodzy” Two Lance Jr. and Betsy Two Lance; extended children whom she raised Aliyah, Linsy, and Christin Two Lance, Karen Red Owl-Sitting Holy, Marie Red Owl, Tim Red Owl, Marisa Brooks, and Fern Red Owl; brothers Robert (Phinet) Red Owl and Jonathon One Feather of Kyle, SD, and Delmar (Linda) One Feather of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Fermina (Wilson) Quintana of Santa Domingo-Pueblo, NM, Janice One Feather and Cheryl One Feather of Kyle, SD, and Colleen Hemminger of Martin, SD; sisters-in-law Wilma Standing Bear, Geneva Lone Hill, and Eva Fast Horse, all of Batesland, SD, Ethel Two Lance-Grinell of Rapid City, SD, and Ingrid One Feather of Oglala, SD; 42 grandchildren; 102 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
Vestana was preceded in death by husband Reverend Vincent Two Lance Sr.; daughter Josephine Two Lance; parents Paul and Nellie Red Owl; sisters Elizabeth Red Owl and Gertude Red Owl; brothers Curtis Red Owl Sr., Harry Red Owl, Darrell Red Owl, Gerald One Feather, Morris One Feather, and Kelmar One Feather; nephews Philip Red Owl and Curtis Red Owl Jr.; niece Verla Red Owl; granddaughters Melissa Two Lance and Kari Two Lance; and two unborn great-grandchildren.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Vestana Eloise Two Lance.
