Graveside memorial services for Virginia “Ginger” K. Petersen, age 69, will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at Fairview Cemetery in Rushville, NE.

A memorial has been established for the Rushville Public Library or the Rushville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Unit, and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366 Gordon, NE 69343.

Ginger passed away on May 22, 2018 at her home. She was born October 3, 1948 to Richard W. Kline and Elsie A. Rath in Rushville, NE. She was the youngest of four children. She lived in Rushville until her family moved to Grafton, NE. Ginger spent many years going back and forth between Grafton and Rushville. She loved to spend time with her cousins (Ann, Ted, Amy Jo, Gene and Jim) on the NiobraraRiver, milking and working cows, and swimming in the river.

On September 4, 1970, Ginger married Dennis Petersen. To this marriage came two girls. Ginger was a stay-at-home mom until her girls got to high school. For the last few years, Ginger worked at the Rushville Public Library.

Ginger was preceded in death by mother Elsie Griffin, father Richard Kline, stepfather Thomas Griffin, brother Ronald Kline, and sisters Dorothy Kline and Betty Lakatos.

Ginger is survived by husband Dennis Petersen; daughters Kathy (Steve) Weber and Dela (Petersen) DeSersa; grandchildren Luke Retzlaff, Amaya DeSersa, Leah Weber, Sam DeSersa, Sara Weber, and Evan DeSersa; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
