Funeral services for Patricia Mae Sounding Sides-Brings Plenty, age 70, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
Burial will be at the Brings Plenty Family Cemetery, Lakeside Community in Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 11, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD.
Patricia was born on January 13, 1948 at her home in Oglala, SD to Phillip Sounding Sides Sr. and Geraldine Dreamer. She made her journey to the Spirit World on June 4, 2018 at the SanfordHealthHospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Patricia was a very kind and generous woman who helped raise a lot of her relatives and foster children.
Patricia was a high school teacher at the RedCloudIndianSchool for 30+ years. She loved working with the kids. They were like family to her. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Patricia is survived by children Michael Brings Plenty of Michigan and Hope Brings Plenty of Oglala, SD; siblings Joyce (Dreamer) Marcy of Michigan, Santos “Tiny” Sounding Sides of the Philippine Islands, Duane “Punkie” Chalmers of Lake Andes, SD, Linda Chalmers of Texas and Lorrie Chalmers-Price of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren Daniel Two Bulls Jr., Jeremiah Two Bulls and Mark Two Bulls, all of Oglala, SD, and Mike Brings Plenty of Pine Ridge, SD; great-grandchildren Jeremy Jaycob Akers-Brings Plenty, Trenton Two Bulls, Jeremiah Two Bulls Jr. and great-grandchild on the way Stephanie Patricia Grace Two Bulls; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Patricia was preceded in death by parents Phillip Sounding Sides Sr. and Geraldine Dreamer; siblings Phillip Sounding Sides Jr., Benjamin Sounding Sides and Eddie Sounding Sides; children David Brings Plenty Jr. and Stephanie Brings Plenty-Two Bulls; and grandmother Susie Little Killer.
