Funeral services for Verna Elizabeth Roubideaux (Siers)-Hultgren, age 83, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the St. Isaac Jogues Catholic Church in Rapid City, SD with Father Ed Witt, S.J., officiating.
Burial will be at 11:30 AM on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at the Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Rapid City, SD.
Visitation services will start at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Mother Butler Center in Rapid City, SD.
A Rosary service will be at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the Mother Butler Center in Rapid City, SD.
Verna was born on December 23, 1934 in Pine Ridge, SD to Vernie Roubideaux and Victoria Siers. She made her journey to the Spirit World on June 3, 2018 at Regional Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.
Verna attended FlandreauIndianSchool and completed college courses at OglalaLakotaCollege. She worked as a nurse’s aide and also as a cook at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, SD.
Verna is survived by children Veronica (Lonny) Dybdahl and Michael Hultgren of Rapid City, SD, Brandi (James) Two Bulls of Lower Brule, SD, and Linda Two Bulls of Rapid City, SD; sisters Mary Siers of Sioux Falls, SD and Rosemarie Krenz of Rapid City, SD; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Verna was preceded in death by parents Vernie Roubideaux and Victoria Siers; children Robert Hultgren, Mitchell Hultgren, Douglas Hultgren, Theresa Hultgren, and one child in infancy; sister Aldine Bruning; brothers Delmas Jumping Eagle Jr. and Tommy Siers; grandchildren Theresa Annette Hultgren and Melissa Hultgren; grandparents Jennie Bad Yellow Eyes and William Siers; and great-grandparents Broken Face and Weasel Bear.
