Funeral services for Richard Paul White Dress “Isnala Mani,” age 58, will be at 1:00 PM on Monday, June 25, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD with Father Ron Seminara, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services are To Be Announced.
Burial will be at St. Stephen’s CatholicCemetery in Kyle, SD.
A one-night wake service will start at 2:00 PM on Sunday, June 24, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD with Rosary services starting at 7:00 PM.
Precious brother, uncle, and friend, Richard left those who loved him on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at his home near Kyle, SD. He was a very humble person and he loved his family, nephews, nieces, and grandchildren. Richard did not have any of his own children, so he loved his grandchildren like his own. They are Eva, Carlos, Mark Jr. and Alex Fresquez, Phillip and Lindsey Ward, Winyan, Margie, and Wicepa Weasel Bear, Pedro and Kayden Thunder Hawk, Brieanna Cottier, Wayne Chief Eagle III, Andrew and Peyton Thunder Hawk, Bryton Steele, Angelina, Kaitlyn and Keisha Janis, Emma and Randilynn Lame, Dontae White Bear Claws, April and Charles Bear Eagle, Kimmila and Cante Ten Fingers, Abigail Gotheridge, Caleb, Hendricks and Nervanna White Dress, Heaven Zephier, Avery Clown, Garry III, Evelyn, Rachel, Echo, Diamond, Michael, and Latoya Crooked Eyes, Kendra, Lyndon and Elmalena Brave Eagle-White Dress, Jordan, Collin, Nakita, and Anthony Whiting, Layla, Latisha, Timothy Jr., and Taylor White Dress, Laeloni Blue Bird, Kendra Blue Bird, Asa and Makayla Blue Bird, Nataya Blue Bird, Francis Blue Bird, Stephen Eagle Bear Jr., Natasha Blue Bird, Ansel, DeAngelo, and Mason White Calf, and Alan Rowland.
Richard is survived by sisters Mary (Ted) Lame of #4 Community, Cynthia (Donovan) Thunder Hawk of Porcupine, SD, and Lucille (Belloron) Blue Bird of Rapid City, SD; brothers Wallace (Delphine) White Dress, Taylor White Dress, Boyd White Dress, and Francis White Dress Jr., all of Kyle, SD; aunts Pearl White Dress, Sharon (Randy) Lowe, Melinda (Rob) Sun Bear, Mary Jane Bastion-Sun Bear, Delilah White Dress, and Peggie White Dress; uncle Paul White Dress; nieces Elthea Lame, Luta Fresquez, Mary Thunder Hawk, Carrie Thunder Hawk, Ahlisha Thunder Hawk, Belle Blue Bird, Catherine Blue Bird, Adeline White Dress, and Christina White Dress; and nephews Donavon Thunder Hawk Jr., Andy Thunder Hawk, Timothy White Dress, Richard Blue Bird, William Blue Bird, Trevor White Dress, Yamni White Dress, Michael White Dress, Wallace White Dress Jr., Willis Zephier, Bryon White Dress, Theodore Lame Jr., Larry Lame, and Francis “Ryan” Lame.
Richard was preceded in death by father Francis White Dress Sr.; mother Adeline Sun Bear-White Dress; grandparents James White Dress and Amelia Red Bear-White Dress, Jess Sun Bear and Mollie High Pine-Sun Bear; sister Janice Sun Bear; aunt Rachel Sun Bear-White Dress; uncles Cordell, Maynard, Marlin, Melvin, Harold, and Curtis Sun Bear, and Edward White Dress; nephews James Jesse White Dress and Asa Blue Bird; nieces Emily Blue Bird and Frankie Thunder Horse; and grandchildren Loreli Lame and Shirley Fresquez.
