07/09/2018 - Bradley Gene Sauder

A celebration of life service for Bradley Gene Sauder, age 61, of Hay Springs, NE will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 9, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Hay Springs, NE with Pastors Paul Smith, Johnathan Seng, and Richard McKay officiating.

Brad passed away on Tuesday, July 3, 2018. He was born on August 12, 1956 in Golden, CO. He was adopted into his forever family at the age of two by Roy and Anna May Sauder. Brad grew up on the family farm near Bridgeport, NE where he spent time riding his beloved horse Princess. He attended school in Bridgeport and graduated from Job Corps. He later achieved a Bachelor’s degree in education from Chadron State College.
 
He met and married Irene Ward. From this union, two sons were born, Tabbott and Travis. He later married Susan Bork-Anderson in 1983, proudly becoming the stepfather of Justin and Kristin. From this union, another son was born, Caleb. Brad and Sue made their home in Gordon and relocated to Hay Springs in 1997. They enjoyed many summers camping, boating, fishing and visiting their many beloved grandchildren. Many forever memories will be cherished from travels across the nation.
 
Brad was a man of many talents. He served in the Marine Corps as a heavy equipment operator. Later, he taught school at Wolf Creek Elementary. He worked various construction jobs and owned his own construction business. Most recently, he spent his time running his beloved bait shop and swapping fish stories.
 
Brad belonged to many organizations. As a youth, he was involved in 4-H and saddle club. Later, he was a member of the American Legion and the Masons. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially when he could share it with family and friends. He welcomed friends from all walks of life into his home. His grandchildren were his pride and joy. He encouraged them to sharpen their debating skills, gave them rides on his scooters, and introduced them to watching old westerns.
 
Brad will be missed by loving wife of 35 years Susan Sauder of Hay Springs, NE; sons Caleb (Josie) Sauder of Donnybrook, ND, Travis Sauder of Crawford, NE, Tabbott (Cammie) Sauder of Scottsbluff, NE, and Justin (Kelli) Anderson of Hay Springs, NE; daughter Kristin (Greg) Strathman of Axtell, KS; parents Roy and Anna May Sauder of Bridgeport, NE; sister Faye (Allen) Maddux of Bridgeport, NE; Terry Miracle of Bridgeport, NE; mother-in-law Margaret Bork of Hay Springs, NE; 17 grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws, and a host of friends.
 
Brad was preceded in death by maternal grandparents Oscar and Virginia Smith; paternal grandparents Mike and Mabel Sauder; granddaughter Angelina Sauder; and father-in-law Norman Bork.
 
Thompson-Larson Funeral Home of Minot, ND is in charge of arrangements for Bradley Gene Sauder.
