Funeral services for Floyd Patrick Brings Plenty, age 62, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Pastor David Brings Plenty and Senior Catechist Ben Conquering Bear officiating.
Burial will be at the Brings Plenty Family Cemetery on Lakeside Road in Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 6:00 PM on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM each night of the wake.
Floyd was born on January 11, 1956 in Pine Ridge, SD to Leo Brings Plenty and Vera (Badger) Brings Plenty. He made his journey to the Spirit World on July 10, 2018 at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora, CO.
Floyd is survived by spouse Sherri Ten Fingers of Oglala, SD; daughters Candice Brings Plenty of Portland, OR, Kristin Brings Plenty of Oglala, SD, Misty Whary and Mia Whary of St. Roberts, MO, Charity Brings Plenty of Cherry Creek, SD, Ronnie Brings Plenty of Oglala, SD, and Janet Whiting of Rockyford, SD; sons Kiley Brings Plenty of Oglala, SD, Sage Brings Plenty of Lake Andes, SD, and Cole Brings Plenty and Jace Brings Plenty of Oglala, SD; brothers Blaine Brings Plenty, Cornell Red Star, and David Red Star, all of Sioux Falls, SD; hunka sisters Elizabeth (Blacksmith) Morrison and Lisa (Youngman) Good Weasel of Oglala, SD; stepmother Vera Brings Plenty of Hot Springs, SD; grandchildren Kyroh “The Dane” Brings Plenty, Helina Brings Plenty, Breana Brave Heart, D’marcus Brings Plenty, LaRay Brings Plenty, Julianna Brown Eyes, Floyd Brings Plenty, Jacob Starr, Ed Starr, Savannah Montileaux, Summer Montileaux, Cheyenne Whiting, and Jordan Mesteth; great-grandson Noah Brings Plenty; and numerous cousins and relatives.
Floyd was preceded in death by parents Leo and Vera (Badger) Brings Plenty; brothers Owen, Millard “Smokey”, Stuart, Donovan, Joseph, Fred, and Millard Brings Plenty; sisters Marie, Yvonne, and Ollie Brings Plenty; grandparents David and Mary (Mousseaux) Badger and Philip and Sophie (Smith) Brings Plenty; and aunts Evelyn (Badger) Big Owl, Sophie (Badger) Young Bear, Myrtle (Badger) Thunder Hawk, Mildred (Badger) Cottier, Rebecca (Badger) Brewer, Bernadine (Badger) Tuttle, and Bertha (Badger) Fox.
