Funeral services for Cora Pearl (Thunder Bull) Bird Hat, age 68, will begin at 7:00 PM on Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD with military roll call after services with President Curtis Schmidtlein officiating.
A burial procession will start at 9:45 AM on Friday, July 20, 2018 from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD to arrive at Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD at 12:00 PM for burial services.
A one night wake service will start at 4:00 PM on Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle, SD.
Cora was a veteran in the U.S. Army.
Cora was born on April 27, 1950 in Pine Ridge, SD to Vincent and Ella (Imitates Dog) Thunder Bull. She made her journey to the Spirit World on July 16, 2018 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Cora is survived by husband Clinton Bird Hat of Ashland, MT; children Heidi Merrill of Kyle, SD, Vincent Merrill of Rapid City, SD, Angel Merrill of El Mirage, AZ, Belle Merrill of Rapid City, SD, Larry Merrill and Ransom Merrill of Phoenix, AZ, and Winter Rose Merrill of Rapid City, SD; brother Earl Thunder Bull of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Bernadine (Bill) May of Casa Grande, AZ, Susan Thunder Bull, Phyllis Campbell, Dorothy Thunder Bull, and Amanda (Jim) Christensen, all of Kyle, SD; hunka sister Eunice Nassar of Pittsburgh, PA; hunka brother John Conally of Pittsburgh, PA; and grandchildren Anthony Pena and Petra Kyr, Alexandria Gonzales, Ella Merrill, Pretty Plume Merrill Tatanka Merrill, Wiyaka Merrill, Cameron Young, Aiden Richey, Trinity Merrill, and Spring Rain Merrill.
Cora was preceded in death by parents Vincent and Ella Thunder Bull; and grandparents Shields Thunder Bull, Josephine Bissonette, Wallace Imitates Dog, Belle Black Bear, Douglas Stuart Thunder Bull, Rose Thunder Bull-White Face, Malcolm Thunder Bull, Linda Thunder Bull-Means, Faye Thunder Bull-Lone Hill, and Cecil Thunder Bull.
