A memorial service for Jerry Lee Spencer, age 87, will be held in Brewster, NE at a later date.
Jerry passed away on July 15, 2018. He was born on June 26, 1931 in Brewster, NE, the son of Roy Clayton and Elma (Copp) Spencer. Jerry married Edna Ferguson on May 29, 1948 in Ansley, NE. They lived and ranched northeast of Brewster for almost 60 years. To this union was born three children, Kathy (Roger) Suhr of Chadron, NE, Roy (Peggy) Spencer of Brewster, NE, and Julie Lanham of Bozeman, MT. They also raised granddaughter Tanya Spencer of Bend, OR.
In 2008, Jerry and Edna moved off the ranch to Burwell, NE and then moved to Chadron, NE in 2012 to be close to daughter Kathy. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Don and Ted Spence of Brewster. He is survived by wife Edna, three children, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and sisters Ima Stapleman, Sandra Erickson and Dixie Gaedke.
