A Celebration of Life for Dean S. Forney J.D. will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at the Roeder Mortuary in Gretna, NE.
A graveside burial service will be at 7:00 PM on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at the Rushville City Cemetery in Rushville, NE.
A memorial has been established by the family for further designation. Donations may be sent to Roeder Mortuary Gretna Chapel, 11710 Standing Stone Drive, Gretna, NE 68028.
Dean was born on October 23, 1952. He passed away on July 18, 2018, ending his yearlong brain cancer journey and leaving behind beloved wife Jane; daughter Joey (Kent) Patterson; son Austin (Anessa) Forney; granddaughter Ally Jane Patterson; granddogs Cash and Penny; brothers Bruce (Beth) Forney, Glen (Nancy) Forney, and Kent (Shelley) Forney; sister Joann Lee; 12 nephews and nieces; and many, many friends. He was preceded in death by parents Donald and Olive Forney and pets Flannel, Sassafras and Max.
Dean was an attorney, master litigator, Winnebago Tribal Judge, cowboy, hunter, fisherman, and champion story teller. Graduate of the University of Nebraska and CreightonSchool of Law. Sigma Chi. Proud member of the Nebraska Bar Association, Rotary, Masons, and Ducks Unlimited. Loved his family, Forney Ranch, medium rare steak, Nebraska football, scotch, and Marilyn Monroe.
