Funeral services for Lori Ann Cottier, age 49, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Father Edmund Yainao, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Mike Little Boy and Mike Cross.
Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Rockyford, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 4:00 PM on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD. Rosary services will be at 7:00 PM on Friday, August 10, 2018 at the Billy Mills Hall.
Lori was born on February 20, 1969 in Pine Ridge, SD to Jonathan Red Shirt and Rose Cottier. She made her journey to the Spirit World on August 5, 2018 at the Ava’s House in Sioux Falls, SD.
Lori is survived by mother Rose Cottier of Pine Ridge, SD; stepfather Clifford Grass Sr. of Pine Ridge, SD; children Melissa Pine, Alex Pine, Albert Cottier, and Brandi Warrior, all of Pine Ridge, SD, Thomas Wilson of Rapid City, SD, Calmer Cottier of Victorville, CA, and Jerome Warrior of Hazelton, WV; sisters Beth Pourier-Cottier of Colorado Springs, CO, Jeanine Cottier and Jerrylyn Cottier of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Andrew Cottier of Manderson, SD, Wesley Cottier of Tulsa, OK, Clifford Grass Jr. and Patrick Grass of Pine Ridge, SD, and Bishop Cottier of Rapid City, SD; grandchildren Michael Warrior, Milo Warrior, Logan Warrior, Avoni Lessert, Taydenc Blaze Cottier, Tiyah Cottier, Tason Blaze Warrior, Aaiylah and Patience Merrival, Passion, Danasia, Briar, Diamond, Blossom, and Shine Pine; aunts Catherine Cottier and Alberta Cottier of Pine Ridge, SD, and Loretta Courtney of Great Falls, KY; and uncle Bert Cottier Jr. of Florence, CO.
Lori was preceded in death by father Jonathan Red Shirt; sister Kelly Rae Cottier; grandparents Bert Sr. and Marcella Cottier; and niece Kierra Lou Leeds.
