Funeral services for Robert Eugene “Bob” Hunter, age 72, of Alliance, NE will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, August 17, 2018 at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Alliance, NE. A Rosary will precede the funeral, and the Mass will begin at 10:30 AM with Father Tim Stoner officiating.
Inurnment will be in the Hemingford Cemetery at 1:30 PM.
A memorial has been established for the Holy Rosary Catholic Church.

Bob passed away at his home in Alliance, NE on August 6, 2018. He was the first of six children born to Richard and Dorothy (Breckner) Hunter and was born on September 1, 1945 at Camp Pendleton, CA. At the time, his father was serving in the Marines (World War II), and his mother had moved to California while waiting for his father to be discharged. When they returned to Nebraska, Bob became part of the fourth generation of the Hunter family to live on the ranch homesteaded by his great-grandfather. The ranch was located on the NiobraraRiver north of Hemingford, NE, and after the war, the Box Butte Dam was built in the center of their land.
While a student in Chadron, Bob met Joyce Rice, and they were married on September 18, 1967 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Chadron, NE.
Bob is survived by son Scott Hunter of Centennial, CO; granddaughter Tatum Hunter of Centennial, CO; and siblings Gary (Sandy) Hunter of Hemingford, NE, Susan (Steve) Reams of Centennial, CO, David Hunter of Hemingford, NE, Don (Sherry) Hunter of Hemingford, NE, and Ann (Art) Smith of Phoenix, AZ.
