Funeral services for Catherine Audrey Standing Soldier, age 65, will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the Wanblee CAP Office in Wanblee, SD with Father Ron Seminara, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Russell Eagle Bear.
Burial will be at the Bad Cob Family Cemetery in Wanblee, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Wanblee CAP Office in Wanblee, SD with Rosary services at 7:00 PM on Saturday at the CAP Office.
Catherine was born on January 13, 1953 in Kyle, SD to Antwane Martinez and Catherine Jealous of Him. She made her journey to the Spirit World on August 29, 2018 at the Sanford USD Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Catherine is survived by husband Kenneth Standing Soldier of Pine Ridge, SD; mother Catherine Jealous of Him of Pine Ridge, SD; brother Albert Jealous of Him of Allen, SD; and special grandson Orlando Black Hawk.
Catherine was preceded in death by father Antwane Martinez; sisters Naomi Jealous of Him, Rebecca Last Horse, and Shirley Jealous of Him; auntie Ruth Swimmer; and cousins Carol Gay and Nora Gay.
Pallbearers will be K.P. Standing Soldier, Albert Jealous of Him, Taylor Bongo, Frankie Rogers, Robin Martin, Brian Lee Herrald, Calvin Pumpkin Seed, Orlando Black Hawk, and Deondre Black Hawk.
Honorary pallbearers will be Lois Slow Bear, Olive Toledo, Patty Good Crow, Lucille Black Feather, Betty and Abel Red Bird, Richard and Arvella Moves Camp, Mavis Wilcox and Family, Charlotte Bad Cob and Family, Mavis Bad Cob and Family, Linda Marshall and Family, Sam and Sandra Pretty Bear and Family, Herman Standing Bear and Family, and all Friends and Relatives.
