09/08/2018 - Wilson Coleman Sr.

Funeral services for Wilson George Coleman Sr., age 75, will be at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 8, 2018 at the Elderly Meals Building in Porcupine, SD with final viewing services at the Coleman Residence 2½ miles east of Porcupine, SD with Pastor Matt Hadden and Reverend Don Mink officiating. Eulogy will be provided by Emerson Spider Jr., and traditional Lakota services will be provided by Chief Leonard Crow Dog and Santee Witt.
 
Burial will be at the White Bull Family Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
 
Escort will be provided by the Tokala Society under the direction of Olewan Martinez.
 
A one-night wake service will begin at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Elderly Meals Building in Porcupine, SD with vigil services starting at 7:00 PM.
 
Wilson was born on August 26, 1943 to Maurice Coleman and Dorothy Left Hand Bull and was raised by James and Helen Crowe. Wilson made his journey to the Spirit World on September 2, 2018 at the Pine Ridge I.H.S. Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.
 
Wilson is survived by spouse Ella Coleman of Porcupine, SD; children Tisha (Hector) Martinez of Schuyler, NE, Tricia Coleman of Porcupine, SD, Wilson Coleman Jr. and Tracey (Tom Thunder Hawk) Coleman of Rapid City, SD, Jessie (Dave) Shicky of Schuyler, NE, and Maurice Coleman, Dottie (Santee) Witt, and Clifton Coleman, all of Porcupine, SD; hunka children Zady Brown Bull of Potato Creek, SD, Brandon Beagley and David Hamblin of Provo, UT, Daniel Never Misses A Shot of Denver, CO, and Dave Javier of Manitoba, Canada; hunka sister Linda White Face of Porcupine, SD; hunka brothers Elmer White Face and David Swallow of Porcupine, SD; sisters Sherry High Hawk and Francine Running Shield of Porcupine, SD; brother Wayne High Hawk of Porcupine, SD; 32 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
 
Wilson was preceded in death by parents Maurice Coleman, Abraham High Hawk, Dorothy Left Hand Bull, and James and Helen Crowe; children Corey Coleman, Christopher Coleman, and Korena Crowe; sisters Katherine White Bull, Rachel Janis, and Elsie Whiting; brother Thomas Crowe; grandson Isaac Jumping Eagle; and great-grandchildren Darrell Coleman, Freedom Coleman, and Leah Coleman.
