A Celebration of Life for Elijah “Eli” Allen Hunter, age 15, of Gordon, NE will be at 10:00 AM on Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Church of God in Gordon, NE with Pastor Bill Combs officiating.

Burial will be 1:30 PM at Pleasant Point Cemetery south of Gordon, NE.

Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home in Gordon, NE.

A memorial has been established and donations may be sent in care of Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.

Eli went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2018. Eli was born in Effingham, IL on May 9, 2003 to Ben and Stormy Hunter.

Eli was a very highly energetic boy that loved the Sandhills and the ranch with all of his heart. He could not wait until Friday night to go to the ranch. He was a big help to his dad and John during the summer. He also loved branding time and helping Uncle Paul and Mike. He loved to hunt and fish with his dogs. He would often drag his sister, Ileigh, to the ponds to go swimming. He was a true lover of the outdoors and one could never find him inside.

Eli was one-of-a-kind who could talk to just about anyone regardless of age. Eli and his mama became quite the fencing team. They would often play out in the driveway or have long talks.

Eli leaves behind parents Ben and Stormy; sister Ileigh; grandparents Dena Hare, Gene Hunting and Ron and Cindi Hunter; great-grandparents Dean and Eleanor Strasburger and Charlene and Darrell Wood; uncles and aunts Shane (Karen) Hare, Edgar (Tiff) Hunter, Veronica Schraer and John and Mel Strasburger; and numerous other family members.

He was preceded in death by grandfather Scott Hare; great-grandfather Dean Hare; and great-great-uncle and -aunt Eb and Ellen Strasburger.
