A Mass of Christian Burial for Aspen Jade Martin “Pte San Cikala Win” (Little Buffalo Woman), age 11, will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 17, 2018 at the Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Father Edmund Yainao, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Mike Little Boy.
Burial will be at Little’s Family Cemetery on Little’s Flat, Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will start at 2:00 PM on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at the Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with a rosary service starting at 7:00 PM on Saturday, September 15, 2018.
Aspen was born on June 7, 2007 in Sioux Falls, SD to Louis Duane Martin and Michelle (Benson) Martin. She made her journey to the Spirit World on September 8, 2018 in Rapid City, SD.
Aspen is survived by parents Louis and Michelle Martin of Rushville, NE; siblings Louis D. Aspen was preceded in death by grandparents Mona Janis and Virgil Martin; sisters Danielle and Alyssa Martin; and great-great-grandparents Lorraine Little, Adele Little, and Elizabeth and Matthew Titus.
