09/24/2018 - Jonathan 'J.J.' Little Thunder Jr.
Funeral services for Jonathan “J.J.” Jacob Little Thunder Jr. a.k.a. Jonathan Hernandez “Wakinyan Cikala,” age 18, will be at 3:00 PM on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD with Father Ed Hunt officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Isaac Charger and Richard Moves Camp.
Burial will be at the Gethsemane Episcopal Cemetery in Wanblee, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD.
Jonathan Jr. was born on April 1, 2000 in Pine Ridge, SD to Jonathan Little Thunder Sr. and Monica Hernandez. He made his journey to the Spirit World on September 15, 2018 in Pierre, SD.
Jonathan is survived by mother Monica Hernandez of Sioux Falls, SD; father Jonathan Little Thunder Sr. of Wanblee, SD; siblings Dustin Hernandez of Pierre, SD, Haileigh Hernandez of Sioux Falls, SD, and Josephina Little Thunder, Jeremiah Iron Rope and Johnny Little Thunder, all of Wanblee, SD; uncles Craig, Justin and Shane Little Thunder, Richard, Brandon and Raymond Hernandez, and Blaine White Feather; aunts Blair Little Thunder, Tamaria Wilcox, Carla Hernandez, Cassandra Hamel, and Carol and Camille Hernandez; grandparents Blaine Little Thunder and Linda Little Thunder of Wanblee, SD, Earl Richards Jr. of Martin, SD, Juanita Bear Stops of Pierre, SD and Beverly Little Thunder of Sioux Falls, SD; great-grandfather Stephen Little Thunder of Wanblee, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Jonathan was preceded in death by grandparents Richard Hernandez, Pauline Richards, Sophie High Horse, Edith Poor Bear, Raymond Hernandez, Delia Poor Bear, Zachary Poor Bear, and Belle Moves Camp and great-grandparents Bryant High Horse Sr., Minnie High Horse, Ida Iron Bear, Earl Richards, Jacob Little Thunder, John Little Thunder, and Caroline Swift Hawk.
Pallbearers will be: Brandon Hernandez Jr., Jedd Blue, Loren “Jr.” Labatte, Storm Wilcox, Marty “Mesun” Waters Jr., Blake Bear Stops, Von Marco, and Justin Little Thunder Jr.
