Funeral services for Francis Andrew He Crow “Kangi Bloka,” age 88, will be at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Father Joe Daoust, S.J., officiating.
Burial will be at Our Lady of the Sioux Catholic Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 1:00 PM on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with rosary services starting at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 25, 2018.
Francis was born on July 15, 1930 in Pine Ridge, SD to Moses He Crow and Eva (Pumpkin Seed) He Crow. He made his journey to the Spirit World on September 13, 2018 at Sanford Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.
Francis is survived by children Mike He Crow of Pine Ridge, SD, Lupita He Crow of Eagle Butte, SD, and Lucinda (Aaron) Wade of Gordon, NE; sister-in-law Ramona Case of San Carlos, AZ; brother-in-law Quinten (Dolly) Case of San Carlos, AZ; grandchildren Tabitha Black Spotted Horse, Everdelle “Sonny” Black Spotted Horse, Verdell Black Spotted Horse, Charity Ann Wilson, Ellen Rose Wilson, Taylor Wilson, Haley Folson, Sage Means, Patrick Richards, Angie Good Crow, Shawna Good Crow and Chaske Wade; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Francis was preceded in death by parents Moses and Eva He Crow; wife Lema (Case) He Crow; children Viola He Crow, Gregory He Crow, Lora He Crow and Joanna He Crow; siblings Vivienne Red Shirt, Cecelia Broken Nose, Norma He Crow, Abraham He Crow Sr., Hermis He Crow, Jeff He Crow, and Lawrence He Crow; and grandchild Kateri Wilson.
