Funeral services for Mona Geraldine Richard, age 48, will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 at the Youth Center in Allen, SD with Father Ron Seminara, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Justin Poor Bear.
Burial will be at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Cemetery in Kyle, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the Youth Center in Allen, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.
Mona was born on October 20, 1969 in Pine Ridge, SD to John Richard Sr. and Alma Broken Rope. She made her journey to the Spirit World on September 18, 2018 at Bennett County Hospital in Martin, SD.
Mona is survived by spouse Randy Charging Crow of Allen, SD; sister Abby (Myron) Ghost Bear of Allen, SD; grandfather Russell Whirlwind Horse of Allen, SD; nieces Mikayla Ghost Bear and Serena Ghost Bear of Allen, SD; and brothers Austin Cortez, Clarence Broken Rope, and Curtis Conroy, all of Allen, SD.
Mona was preceded in death by parents John Richard Sr. and Alma Broken Rope; brother John Richard Jr.; niece Saren Ghost Bear; and grandparents Dora Trouble In Front, Clarence Broken Rope, Alex Richard, and Lillian Milk.
