Funeral services for MacKayla McKenzie Young, age 1, was at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Woyatan Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD with Pastor Henrique Fleming and Joyce Tibbitts officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Pete Fills the Pipe.

Burial will be at 11:30 AM Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at the Pine Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Rapid City, SD.

Wake services will begin at 12:00 PM on Monday, October 15, 2018 at the Woyatan Lutheran Church in Rapid City, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM at the church.

MacKayla was born on June 26, 2017 in Rapid City, SD to Brittany Romey and Michael Dillon. She made her journey to the Spirit World on October 8, 2018 in Rapid City, SD.

MacKayla is survived by mother Brittany Romey of Rapid City, SD; father Michael Dillon Jr. of Otway, OH; siblings Jada Medicine Blanket, Benjamin Medicine Blanket, and Lakota Medicine Blanket, all of Eagle Butte, SD, and Katryna Young of Rapid City, SD; hunka siblings Reigns Provost, Angelica Provost, Serenity Provost, and Charles Dodd Jr.; aunts Paige Young of Otway, OH, Anita Hayes and Jeanette Johnson of Pine Ridge, SD, and LuAnn Swallow and Alicia Comes From War of Rapid City, SD; uncles Charles Dillon of Redfield, SD, Alan Brown Sr. of Pine Ridge, SD, Sequoyia Scout of Denver, CO, and Roman Dillon, Todd Dillon, and Peyton Dillon, all of Valentine, NE; and grandparents Ludine Thomas and John Thomas III of Otway, OH, Mike Dillon Sr. of Valentine, NE, and Lonnie Swallow and Marilyn Martin of Red Shirt Table, SD.

MacKayla was preceded in death by grandparents Leon and Evangeline Living Outside and Madeline Living Outside; great-grandparents Owen Young Sr. and Wilma Witt; great-great-grandparents Myra Edna Brown and Carol Jean Ten Fingers; great-uncle Martin Ten Fingers; great-aunt Jerilyn Martin; aunt Connie Brown; and uncle Bud Swallow.
