Funeral services for Alexander Luke Two Elk, age 59, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Father Joe Daoust, S.J., and Sister Barb Bogenschutz officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Ivis Long Visitor Sr. and Waylon Black Crow officiating.
Burial will be at the Our Lady of the Sioux Catholic Cemetery in Oglala, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin with the first night starting at 9:00 AM on Saturday, October 20, 2018 at the Two Elk Residence at 1352 Governor Drive in Oglala, SD. The second night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Rosary services starting at 7:00 PM and Military Roll Call to follow.
Alex was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force.
Alex was born on July 7, 1959 in Pine Ridge, SD to Royal Two Elk and Julie Between Lodges. He made his journey to the Spirit World on October 14, 2018 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Alex is survived by significant other Roberta Little Spotted Horse of Oglala, SD; sisters Carmelita (Cecil) Two Elk, Serena (Manuel) Two Elk, and Emily Two Elk, all of Oglala, SD, and Roberta Two Elk of Denver, CO; adopted brother Father John Staudenmaier of Detriot, MI; daughter Courtney Two Elk of Oglala, SD; sons Paul Two Elk and Delano Two Elk of Oglala, SD; and grandchildren Kristopher Kerbaugh Jr., Joseph Kerbaugh, Laikin Little, Lucan Little, Lucas Little, Delano “Baby D” Two Elk, McKenzie Two Elk, KhiSara Two Elk, Madison Two Elk, and Isabella Two Elk.
Alex was preceded in death by mother Julie Between Lodges; father Royal “Aaron” Two Elk; Tokoja Baby Girl Two Elk; sister Grace Two Elk; brothers Aloysius Two Elk and Aaron Two Elk Jr.; nephews Curtis Paul Bear Robe, Joel “Hoksila” New Holy, and Rueben “To’” Yellow Thunder; Hunka parents Rose and Luke Weasel Bear; and Unci Vera Good Lance.
