Funeral services for Samantha Denise White Face, age 46, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, October 22, 2018 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge, SD with Pastor William “Bill” Quijas officiating. Traditional Lakota services are To Be Announced.
Burial will be at the Body of Christ Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge, SD.
Samantha was born on October 13, 1972 in Pine Ridge, SD to Richard White Face and Josephine Elk Boy-Hard Heart. She made her journey to the Spirit World on October 15, 2018 at Regional Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.
Samantha is survived by children Donna Yankton of Denver, CO, Roxanne Yankton and Donovan Yankton Jr. of Evergreen, SD, Samuel Fast Wolf of Rapid City, SD, and Shawnee Afraid of Hawk and Billie Red Shirt of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Fawn White Face of Rapid City, SD and Lorraine White Face of Belle Fourche, SD; brothers Donovan White Face and Dennis White Face of Pine Ridge, SD; grandchildren Mariah Mesteth, Nevaeh Mesteth, Sapphire Afraid of Hawk, Anthony Yankton, Aliana Sandoval, and Jonathan Sandoval Jr.; aunts Linda White Face of Porcupine, SD, Esther White Face of Pine Ridge, SD, Lorraine White Face of Evergreen, SD, and Blanche White Face of Tennessee; and uncles Elmer White Face Sr. of Evergreen, SD, Manuel White Face and David White Face of Porcupine, SD, and Chauncey White Face Jr. of Pine Ridge, SD.
Samantha was preceded in death by parents Richard White Face and Josephine Elk Boy-Hard Heart; sister Jackie White Face-Tail; brothers Thomas White Face and Dewey White Face; uncles Benjamin White Face and Seth White Face; and aunt Ellen Reno American Horse.
