11/03/2018 - Deane Allen Jensen

Funeral services for Deane Allen Jensen, age 82, of Hay Springs, NE will be at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 3, 2018 at the Hay Springs United Methodist Church with Pastor Paul Smith will be officiating.
 
Burial will follow at the Mirage Flats Community Cemetery.
 
A luncheon for family and friends will precede the funeral service at 1:00 PM at the Hay Springs United Methodist Church.
 
A memorial has been established for the Hay Springs United Methodist Church or the Bright Focus Foundation for Alzheimer’s disease research, 22512 Gateway Center Drive, Clarksburg, MD 20871. 

Deane passed away on Friday, October 26, 2018 at High Plains Alzheimer’s Special Care Center in Lincoln, NE.
 
Deane was born on August 12, 1936 at his grandmother’s home in Hay Springs, NE to Einer and Dolores Jensen. He grew up on a farm south of Hay Springs and graduated from Hay Springs High School in 1954. He married Sue Thies on June 27, 1955. During his marriage to Sue, son Doyle was born. Sadly, Sue was killed in a car accident. On June 28, 1960, Dean married Deann Trupp. To this marriage union, four children were born, Vicki, Jody, Corby, and Dina. Deane and Deann raised their five children on a farm/ranch 15 miles south of Hay Springs for 35 years. Deane’s sense of humor, jokes, pranks, and playing cards brought many hours of love and laughter to his family and friends.
 
Survivors include wife Deann of Hay Springs, NE; sister Virginia Johnson of Hay Springs, NE; brother and sister-in-law Tom and Mary Fortune of Care Creek, AZ; children Doyle Jensen of Tulsa, OK, Vicki Parker of Hay Springs, NE, Jody (John) Grantham of Chadron, NE, Corby (Gina) Jensen of Denton, NE, and Dina (Dean) Heise of Osborne, KS; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous cousins and friends.
