Funeral services for Michelle Marie White Plume “Ti Ikciya Luta Win,” age 38, will be at 1:00 PM on Sunday, November 4, 2018 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Francis “Chubbs” Thunder Hawk.
Burial will be at the White Plume Family Cemetery in Kiza Park near Manderson, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 2:30 PM on Friday, November 2, 2018 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD.
Michelle was born on September 14, 1980 in Pine Ridge, SD to Alta White Plume and Michael Quilt. She made her journey to the Spirit World on October 25, 2018 at her home in Pine Ridge, SD.
Michelle is survived by mother Alta White Plume; children Raymond Richard, James Richard, Deloni Richard, Rhiannon White Plume, and Kyson Richard; sisters Teresa Brown, Wacinhin “Rosebud” White Plume and Leslie Cary White Butterfly; and brothers Chauncey Brown, Mike Jay (Paula) White Plume, Tatanka White Plume, and Ivan (Stormy) White Butterfly.
Michelle was preceded in death by father Ivan White Butterfly Sr.; brothers Marlin White Plume, TaWapaha Luta and Jared White Plume; aunt Wyoma White Plume; and grandparents Percy White Plume Sr. and Villance Weasel.
Pallbearers will be Tina Steele, Lynn Walking Eagle, Hattie White Butterfly, Marci One Feather, William Kills Enemy, Tanya White Butterfly, Jaime Goings, Tina Sitting Holy, Tiffany Sitting Holy, and Rustee Walking Eagle.
