11/21/2018 - Dawnelle Davis
Services will not be held for Dawnelle Davis, formerly of Rushville, NE.
In lieu of a memorial service, friends are encouraged to just have a thought of how Dawnelle and lifetime deceased friend Darryl are stretching the limits of their current surroundings.
Dawnelle was born in Madera, CA to Walker H. “Bevo” and Marjorie E. (VanAckeren) Davis on March 13, 1949 and passed away in Wilmington, NC on November 6, 2018. The family included her older brother, David. The family resided in Dos Palos, CA until moving in 1956 to Decatur, NE, then in 1957 to Valentine, NE, where Dawnelle attended a one-room school. The family finally moved to Rushville, NE in 1960, where she graduated from high school in 1967. She also attended Chadron State College.
This nomadic childhood was probably what led to her nomadic adult lifestyle, living in numerous cities across the U.S. and being engaged in food service, customer service, meat processing, and as a hair stylist and paralegal.
She is survived by life partner Tina Moody; brother David; nephews Jacob, Nicholas (Alicia), and Noah (Chrissy); great-nieces Sienna, Ashlyn, Juliette, Caitlin, Kenadae, Sophie, and Everly; great-nephew Ian; and step-great-nephew Logan Sullivan.
She was preceded in passing by grandmother Opal VanAckeren, her mother and father, and lifetime friend Darryl.
