11/19/2018 - Eric Jay Poor Thunder
Funeral services for Eric Jay Poor Thunder, age 45, will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, November 19, 2018 at the LaCreek CAP Office in Martin, SD with Pastor Hermus Poor Thunder officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Bill Good Voice Elk Jr.
Burial will be at the LaCreek Cemetery in Martin, SD. A two-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at the LaCreek CAP Office in Martin, SD with prayer services starting at 7:00 PM each night.
Eric was born on September 20, 1973 in Martin, SD to Carl Standing Bear and Virginia Poor Thunder. He made his journey to the Spirit World on November 14, 2018 at the Meadowbrook Care & Rehabilitation Center in Rapid City, SD.
Eric is survived by wife Johanna DuBray of Rapid City, SD; children Jonette DuBray of Rapid City, SD and Tianna DuBray of Big Timber, MT; grandchildren Shayna DuBray and Bow Good Voice Elk Jr. of Rapid City, SD and Ayden DuBray of Big Timber, MT; father Carl Standing Bear of Martin, SD; siblings Trinity Poor Thunder of Rapid City, SD and Carla, Dave, Carl Jr., Jon, Jaden, and Niquel Standing Bear, all of Martin, SD; aunts and uncles Robin, Patricia, Isaac, Gordon Sr., Gene Sr., and Caroline Standing Bear, Mary Poor Thunder and Isadore Poor Thunder, all of Martin, SD, Hermus Poor Thunder and Fern Poor Thunder of Red Shirt Table, SD, and Craig Poor Thunder of Rapid City, SD; hunka “Mom” Sharon Richards of Rapid City, SD; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Eric was preceded in death by mother Virginia Poor Thunder; brother Arlo Poor Thunder; grandparents Isadore Sr. and Tillie Poor Thunder and Edsel and Evelyn Standing Bear; uncle Jerome Black Eyes; aunt Maude Standing Bear; cousins Barbara Standing Bear, Santana Standing Bear, Edsel Standing Bear, and Richard Standing Bear; nieces Tiffany and Tina Libby; nephews Gabe and Victor Standing Bear; and grandsons Jordan and Darin.
Pallbearers will be Nicholas DuBray Jr., Jalen Poor Thunder, Kaden Klatt, Nicholas Schmidtt, Arlo Poor Thunder, Gene Standing Bear Jr., Curtis Hernandez, Mario Standing Bear, Joe Cottier Jr., Joseph W. Poor Thunder Sr., and Charlie Wilson.
