Funeral services for Clarinda Elizabeth Broken Leg, age 71, will be at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 10, 2018 at the Joyner Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Pastor Charles Montileaux officiating.
Burial will be at the Holy Cross Episcopal Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 10:00 AM on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.
Clarinda Elizabeth Broken Leg was born on October 18, 1947 in Cheyenne Creek Village near Pine Ridge, SD to Daniel Broken Leg and Virgie (Poor Elk) Broken Leg. She made her journey to the Spirit World on December 5, 2018 at the Bryan Medical Center in Lincoln, NE.
Clarinda is survived by children Monica Colbath of Anchorage, AK, Bobby Chamberlain of Nebraska City, NE, and Gail Brownlow of Alliance, NE; sister Alvina Broken Leg of Rushville, NE; husband John Red Star of Lincoln, NE; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
Clarinda was preceded in death by parents Daniel and Virgie (Poor Elk) Broken Leg; siblings James, Phyllis, Douglas, and Francis Broken Leg and Sylvia Wiggins; son Neil Broken Leg; and grandparents Frank Poor Elk, Clarinda Big Ribs-Gallego, John Gallego, James Broken Leg and Elizabeth (Light in the Lodge) Broken Leg.
Pallbearers will be Jessica Thomas, Emily Thomas, Jamella Hollow Horn, Porsha Hollow Horn, Desert Martinez, Golden Long, Trisha Red Star and Paulina Fast Wolf.
