12/22/2018 - Lonnie James Pilcher

Funeral services for Lonnie James Pilcher, age 41, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at the Rockyford School Gym in Rockyford, SD with Father Edmund Yainao and Joyce Tibbitts officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Jerome LeBeaux.
 
Burial will be in the Pourier Family Cemetery at Sharp’s Corner, SD.
 
A one-night wake service will start at 4:00 PM on Friday, December 21, 2018 at the Rockyford School Gym in Rockyford, SD with Rosary services starting at 7:00 PM.
 
Lonnie was born on March 8, 1977 in Pine Ridge, SD to Vincent “Sonny” Pilcher and Delores “George” Pourier. He made his journey to the Spirit World on December 15, 2018 in Pine Ridge, SD.
 
Lonnie is survived by spouse Kathy Pilcher of Pine Ridge, SD; parents Delores Pourier and Sonny Pilcher; children Alexandria (Tylo) American Horse, Kerri (Pressler Red Cloud) Pilcher, and Caitlin (Dre’ Morrisette) Pilcher; stepchildren Jessie (April) Byerly, Jenny Byerly, and Cody Daugherty; grandchildren Haley Morrisette and Lonnie “Baby Moose” Morrisette, Katelyn Oldson, Katori Oldson, Jonathan Twiss, Taylor Byerley, Ryder Byerley, and Skylar Byerley; sisters Tara Curry, Dena Pilcher, and Gina Pilcher; brothers Vincent “Buckles” Pilcher, Martin Pilcher, Lyle Pilcher, Jimmy Pilcher, Bobby Pilcher, Julian Rodriguez, and Jared Rodriguez; and mother figure Jodi Brewer.
 
Lonnie was preceded in death by grandparents Melvin “Jack” and Ruth (Huether) Pourier and Vincent Pilcher Sr.; uncle Denny Pilcher; cousin Paulette Pourier and McKenzie Pourier; brother-in-law Lavern Curry; and niece Jayla Rodriguez.
 
Pallbearers will be Julian Rodriguez, William Brewer, Kirk Trujillo, James Stone, Casey Means, Cass Waters, Pat Heathershaw, and Myles Janis.

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Lonnie James Pilcher.
