Funeral services for Verdell C. Eagle Hawk, age 57, will be at 12:00 PM on Saturday, February 2, 2019 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Brother Don Mink, Elder Madeline Terry and Elder Donovan Youngman officiating. Traditional Lakota services are To Be Announced.

Burial will be at the Makasan Presbyterian Cemetery in Oglala, SD.

A two-night wake service will start with the first night at 12:00 PM on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at the Re-Creation Center in Oglala, SD. The second night will start at 12:00 PM on Friday, February 1, 2019 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with evening services starting each night at 7:00 PM.

Verdell was born on April 12, 1961 in Pine Ridge, SD to Tibbitts Eagle Hawk and Hannah Kills In Water. He made his journey to the Spirit World on January 27, 2019 at the IHS Hospital in Pine Ridge, SD.

Verdell is survived by wife Darlene Chase In Winter of Oglala, SD; daughters Juanita Eagle Hawk of Pine Ridge, SD and Denise Eagle Hawk of Bayard, NE; stepchildren Darren, Damian, Delbert, and Emerald New Holy, and Juliet White Eagle, all of Oglala, SD; sister Gabrielle Fights Over of Oglala, SD; brother Tibbitts Eagle Hawk Jr.; grandchildren Taylor, Brevan, and Carleigh Campbell, Tiaunni Kelly, Eilaunia Youngman, Vanessa Eagle Hawk, Harold Tobacco Jr., Leigha Eagle Hawk, Warlance Eagle Hawk, and Deneva Cross; great-grandchildren Nisa and Gregory Eagle Hawk; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and cousins.

Verdell was preceded in death by parents Tibbitts Eagle Hawk and Hannah Kills In Water and siblings Myrna, Violet and Harold Eagle Hawk.
