Funeral services for Dorothea Viola (Understanding Crow) DuBray, age 88, will be at 1:00 PM on Thursday, February 7, 2019 at the LaCreek CAP Office in Martin, SD with Apostle Pedro Sharpfish officiating.
Burial will be at the First Body of Christ Cemetery in Yellow Bear Canyon, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at the LaCreek CAP Office in Martin, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM each night.
Dorothea was born on January 31, 1931 in Pine Ridge, SD to Josiah and Melissa (Holy Eagle) Understanding Crow. She made her journey to the Spirit World on February 1, 2019 at the Bennett County Hospital in Martin, SD.
Dorothea was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother and was also an active member of the First Body of Christ Church.
Dorothea is survived by children Brian DuBray Sr. of Martin, SD and Delbert DuBray and Keith DuBray of Rapid City, SD; 20 grandchildren; and 35 great-grandchildren.
Dorothea was preceded in death by spouse Eugene DuBray; parents Josiah and Melissa Understanding Crow; sisters Virginia and Veronica; brothers Alex and Rudy; children Monica and Jeff; and two granddaughters Eugenia and Brooks DuBray.
Pallbearers will be Eric Cottier Sr., Cornell Ruff Jr., Dewey Shangreaux, Dustin Cottier, Brandon Terzo, and Ernie Libby.
Honorary pallbearers will be all her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, Lorena Brave Hawk, Betty Peters and kids, Rebecca Brave Hawk and girls, and all relatives and friends.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Dorothea Viola (Understanding Crow) DuBray.
