Memorial services for 45-year old Leon Wayne Cross Jr of Bismark, ND, will be Sunday, March 10, 2019 at 11:00 at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD, with Mr. Rodney Bad Hand and Traditional Lakota Services by  Mr. Eric Cross

Burial Services will be held at a later date.

One night wake service will be held Saturday, March 9, 2019, starting at 7:00 PM at the Crazy Horse School in Wanblee, SD

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD

Leon Wayne Cross Jr was born on December 31, 1973 in Stanley, ND to Leon & Elaine (Beston) Cross and made his journey to the Spirit World on Friday, March 1, 2019 at his home due to natural causes.

Leon spent his childhood years around Wanblee, SD.  He attended grade school at Crazy Horse School in Wanblee and later moved to Wahpeton, ND in 1987 and attended Flandreau Indian School and Kicking Horse Job Corps.; Leon completed his education in 1994. 

Leon worked as a construction worker for most of his life until he fell ill in 2013.  Leon enjoyed being on the Crazy Horse Swim Team, playing basketball, drawing,  occupying his time with family and friends, and walking the red road to his sobriety. 

Leon is survived by his three daughters, Leroya Dawn Cross (Tanya Ross) of Sioux Falls, SD, Angel Leah Cross (Renee Jackson) of Camp Verde, AZ, and Delilah Jade Garrison (Brook Garrison) of Brooklyn, NY; three sons, Eliaz Cruz Borregas (Liza Billsie) of Rough Rock, AZ, Dakota Elk Stewart (Kara Charette) of Minot, ND, and Wakinyan Spirit Cain (Sheena Cain) of Bismarck, ND; three sisters, Fara Marie Smith of Phoenix, AZ, Tracy Cross of Bismarck, ND, and Colleen Cross of Sioux Falls, SD; and numerous grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

Leon was preceded in death by his daughter, Shaeanne Wiconi Cross, and parents, Leon and Elaine (Beston) Cross.
