Funeral services for Robert Wayne Jumping Eagle, age 64, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD with Pastor TJ Jernigan and Father Edmund Yainao, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Mike Little Boy.

Burial will be at the Jumping Eagle Family Cemetery in Manderson, SD.

A two-night wake service will begin at 4:30 PM on Thursday and Friday, March 21-22, 2019 at the Wounded Knee District School in Manderson, SD with evening services starting each night at 7:00 PM.

Robert was born on January 19, 1955 in Pine Ridge, SD to Robert Jumping Eagle and Rebecca Looks Twice. He made his journey to the Spirit World on March 13, 2019 at Regional Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.

Robert is survived by children Danny Jumping Eagle, Robert Jumping Eagle Jr., Denise Jumping Eagle, John Jumping Eagle, and Jamie Graham; siblings Roberta Spencer, Philip Jumping Eagle Sr., William Jumping Eagle Sr., Georgia Jumping Eagle, Audrey Jumping Eagle, Delores Jumping Eagle, Starlette Jumping Eagle, and Corrine Brave; and adopted nieces Sharon Sun Eagle and Virginia and Wendy Foote.

Robert was preceded in death by parents Robert Jumping Eagle and Rebecca Looks Twice; grandparents William and Lucy Looks Twice; siblings Betty Jumping Eagle-Hernandez and Henry Jumping Eagle; aunts Flora Black Tail Deer and Pearl Ghost; uncles Leo Looks Twice, Rueben Looks Twice, Roy Looks Twice, Leonard Means, Larry Jumping Eagle, Ronnie Jumping Eagle, and Dusty Jumping Eagle.
