Funeral services for Darrell Lynn Martin, age 69, will be at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Father Ed Hunt officiating.
Burial will be at the Holy Cross Episcopal Cemetery in Pine Ridge, SD.
A one-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.
Darrell was born on October 4, 1949 at home in Slim Buttes, SD to Samuel Martin Sr. and Elizabeth (Chase In Morning) Martin. He made his journey to the Spirit World on March 20, 2019 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.
Darrell is survived by children Darrell Martin Jr., Christopher (Sylvia) Whiting, and Elizabeth (Cesar) Lopez, all of Pine Ridge, SD, and Dana Martin of Chadron, NE; grandchildren Darrell (Jess) Martin III of Rapid City, SD, Cesar Lopez III of Pine Ridge, SD, Anissa Martin, Rodney Martin, Andre Martin, Ciara Martin, and Tomas Goings, all of Pine Ridge, SD, and TreC (Rain) Martin and Joe Bud Waters of Chadron, NE; great-grandchildren Jaden and Darrell Martin IV of Rapid City, SD and Ellie Martin of Chadron, NE; brothers Tony (Sharon) Martin of Porcupine, SD, David Martin of Rapid City, SD, Manuel Martin of Colorado, and Mike (Arlette) Tyon and Melvin (Melody) Martin of Pine Ridge, SD; and sisters Marilyn Martin of Red Shirt, SD, Lema Martin of Pine Ridge, SD, and Carmel Vegas of Reno, NV.
Darrell was preceded in death by wife Hope “Pam” Martin; father Samuel Martin Sr.; mother Elizabeth Chase In Morning-Martin; brothers Samuel Martin Jr., Fredrick Martin Sr., Francis “Poncho” Martin Sr., Vincent “Virgil” Martin Sr., and George “Chris” Martin; and sisters Jerilyn Martin and Henrietta “Corky” Crow-Martin.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Martin III, Rodney Martin, Andre Martin, Wayne Tuttle Jr., TreC Martin, Cody Martin, Roy Martin, and Jonny Batten.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Darrell Lynn Martin.
