Funeral services for 63-year old Margaret Vivian Chief Eagle of Oglala will be Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 11:00 am at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with Sister Barb Bogenschutz officiating and traditional Lakota services with Mr Charles Spotted Thunder.

Burial services will be at the Chief Eagle Family Cemetery in Oglala.

A 2-night wake service will begin Sunday, March 31, at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD with rosary services at 7:00 pm Monday evening.

Margaret Vivian Chief Eagle was born on March 13, 1956 at home in Oglala, SD to Eugene Chief Eagle and Alice (Weasel Bear) Chief Eagle. Margaret made her journey to the Spirit World on March 25, 2019 at her home in Oglala, SD.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Xaviera (Charles) Long Soldier and Jade Marie New Holy, both of Oglala, SD; grandchildren, Eugene (Terran) Chief Eagle, Charly “Chicken”, Jaeden and Charles “Yamni” Long Soldier, Caitlin and Jayda Not Help Him, and Paisley New Holy; great grandchildren, Layla Dreaming Bear, Nyeshia Chavez and Legend Rosander; sisters, Joan McMath of Rapid City, SD, Mary, Sandra and Lucille Chief Eagle, all of Pine Ridge, SD and Paulette Weasel Bear of Oglala, SD; and hunka brother, Gregory Yellow Horse.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Eugene and Alice Chief Eagle; brothers, Roy, Tom, Chris, Wayne and Charles Chief Eagle; sister, Regina Lakota; niece, Margaret “Lil Margaret” Chief Eagle; granddaughter, Rhiannon Margaret Red Shirt; and grandson, Lil Wambli Red Shirt.

Pallbearers will be: Wambli Red Shirt, Chance Chief Eagle, Clifford Running Hawk, Jack Black Feather, Kelly Shangreaux, Kelly Rouillard, Brandon “Copper” Rouillard, Wayne “Turtle” Chief Eagle, Jr., Tommy Chief Eagle and Cass Waters, Sr.
