A Mass of Christian Burial for Alice Marie Pourier, age 73, will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with Father Edmund Yainao, S.J., and Charles McGaa officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Mike Carlow.

Burial will be at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, April 9, 2019 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.

A one-night wake service will start at 3:00 PM on Monday, April 8, 2019 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pine Ridge, SD with rosary services starting at 7:00 PM.

Alice was born on June 19, 1945 in Howe Creek, NE to Ernest James and Martha (Rouillard) James. She made her journey to the Spirit World on April 4, 2019 at her home near Pine Ridge, SD.

Alice is survived by children Kolet (Scott) Logan of Saginaw, MI, Michelle Pourier, Janelle Pourier, Lynette Pourier, Charla Pourier, and Charles (Jolene) Pourier, all of Pine Ridge, SD; brother Arthur “Butch” James of Niobrara, NE; hunka daughter Stephanie Gutierrez of St. Louis, MO; hunka sons Robert Patton of Pine Ridge, SD and Courtney Yurholar of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren Maris Logan, Matthew Clauss, Rebecca Conroy, Jessica Conroy, Chelsea Oines-Koser, Elana Swallow, Tamara Janis, Priscilla Brewer, Ty Janis, Clayton Janis, Alyssa Janis, Cristina Pina-Guzman, Shelby Pourier, Charlize Pourier, Dayton Pourier, Precious Pourier, Charles Pourier Jr., and Alyce Pourier; great-grandchildren Mason Red Leaf, Braddock Red Leaf, Dylan Red Leaf, Khloe Brown, Terry Brown, Trayson Mesteth, Wilbert Reddy, and Jaxson Afraid of Bear; and first cousins Laura Rouillard of Santee, NE and Lynn Rouillard of California.

Alice was preceded in death by parents Ernest and Martha (Rouillard) James; spouse Charles E. Pourier; and siblings Cecil Rouillard, Doris James, Sonny Guy James, Rosa Red Wing, Mary Morrill, Richard James, and Lila James.

Pallbearers will be Lance Rouillard, Stuart Red Wing, Bill James, Delbert Red Wing, Jr., Bill White, Bob White, Phil Davis, and Louie Janis.

Honorary Pallbearers will be all Friends and Relatives.
