Funeral services for Kenneth Stephen (High Whiteman) Prairie Chicken, age 85, will be at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Rapid City, SD with Pastor Henrique Fleming officiating.

Burial will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 at the Black Hills National Cemetery in Sturgis, SD.

A one-night wake service starting at 11:00 AM on Monday, April 22, 2019 at the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Rapid City, SD with evening prayers at 7:00 PM.

Kenneth was a veteran in the U.S. Air Force.

Kenneth was born on October 11, 1933 at home in Allen, SD to Soloman Prairie Chicken and Christine (Weston) Prairie Chicken. He made his journey to the Spirit World in April 14, 2019 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Kenneth is survived by son Kenneth Prairie Chicken of Rapid City, SD; daughter Eldonna Rae Prairie of Denver, CO; siblings Melbert and Larry Prairie Chicken of Rapid City, SD, Lonnie Prairie Chicken of Arizona, and Darrell “Woody” Prairie and Elnita Stroxtile of Rapid City, SD; and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Kenneth was preceded in death by parents Soloman and Christine (Weston) Prairie Chicken; Prebyterian Missionary grandparents Samuel and Martha (Red Wing) Weston; sons Blaine Prairie Chicken and Marty Prairie; daughter Valerie Brewer; stepson Randy Larrabee; and grandson Stephen Blaine Prairie Chicken.

Pallbearers will be Warren Merrival, Roberto Hernandez of San Diego, CA, Micah Prairie Chicken, Sam Prairie Chicken, Michael Boyd, and Wayne Klick.

Honorary Pallbearers will be all Friends & Relatives.
