Funeral services for 76-year old Donna Mae Garnette of Kyle, S.D., will be Saturday May 4, 2019, at 2:00 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church Hall in Kyle with Father Ron Seminara, S.J., officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr. Jerome LeBeaux

Burial will be at the Bull Bear Family Cemetery, Red Water, SD

Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD, is in charge of arrangements for Donna Mae Garnette.

Donna Mae (Bull Bear) Garnette was born on April 1, 1943 in Rapid City, SD to Moses Jesse Bull Bear and Prairie Rose Sophie Grey Eagle Tail and made her journey to the Spirit World on April 25, 2019 at her home near Kyle, SD.

Donna is survived by her children Gwenita Bull Bear of Long Beach, CA, Daphne (Robert) Richards-Cook of Summerset, SD, Desmond Richards of Kyle, SD, Darrell (Jennifer) Richards, Jr. of Kyle, SD, Martin “Marty” (Maggie) Garnette, Jr. of Mitchell, SD, Louella Garnette of Kyle, SD, Lena Garnette of Kyle, SD, and Prairie Rose (Reginald No Neck, Jr.) Garnette of Kyle, SD; her grandchildren whom she raised, Donna Shae Garnette, Sheldon Garnette, Samantha Garnette, and Desmond Richards, Jr. all of Kyle, SD; 35 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, and 5 great-great grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Ulysses Richards, Sr. her second husband, Martin Patrick Garnette, Sr.; parents, Sophie Grey Eagle Tail-Bull Bear and Moses Bull Bear; sister, Mary Bull Bear; son, Duane James Garnette; granddaughter, Toni Garnette; and grandsons, Michael and Moses DuBray

Pallbearers will be Sheldon Garnette and Reginald No Neck, Jr.

Honorary pallbearers will be all her children, nieces, nephews, and cousins, Juanita Scherick, Karen Red Star, Margie Janis, Tudy Swallow, Elizabeth “Liz” May, Todd O’Brien, Corrine Brave, Marlene Brave Heart, Roy Martinez, Eileen Two Bulls, Bim Pourier, Nancy Hussman, Cecelia Fire Thunder, Wilbur Witt, Darla Black, Linda Hunter, Empowerment Zone Board, Kyle Senior Citizens, and All Friends & Relatives.
