Funeral services for Brenda Lee (Blue Bird) Little Moon “Tiikceya Ska Win” (White Tipi Woman), age 39, will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 11, 2019 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Charles McGaa officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Tasunke Wakan Wiwayang Wacipi.
Burial will be at the St. Barnabas Episcopal Cemetery in Kyle, SD.
A two-night wake service will begin at 3:30 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with prayer services at 6:00 PM on Friday, May 10, 2019.
Brenda was born on October 8, 1979 in Pine Ridge, SD to Bryan Blue Bird Sr. and Sandra (Richard) Blue Bird. She made her journey to the Spirit World on May 5, 2019 at the Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Brenda is survived by children Tianna Blue Bird, Bryanne Blue Bird, Patrick Little Moon Jr., Winston Little Moon, and Preston Little Moon, all of Pine Ridge, SD; brothers Lonnie Richards, Bryan Blue Bird Jr., Ryan Blue Bird, and Howard Blue Bird, all of Pine Ridge, SD, Tommy Lee Blue Bird of California, Belleron Blue Bird of Rapid City, SD, and Christopher Blue Bird of Pine Ridge, SD; sisters Theresa Blue Bird and Carla Cheyenne of Rapid City, SD and Jeanette Richard-Black Elk of Pine Ridge, SD; grandchildren Light Richards of Pierre, SD and Alexia Red Bear of Pine Ridge, SD; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
Brenda was preceded in death by parents Bryan Blue Bird Sr. and Sandra (Richard) Blue Bird; spouse Patrick Little Moon; son Victor Cottier; brother Robert John Bear Shield; grandmother Emma (Two Crow) Richard; grandfather Tom Lee Richard; and nieces Emily Blue Bird and Jackie Richard.
Pallbearers will be Darrell Blue Bird, Ian Richards, Brennan Cheyenne, Javon Spotted Elk, Marjoe Janis, Alcopone White Calf, Tom Red Hawk, and Thad Barden-Richard.
Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge, SD is in charge of arrangements for Brenda Lee (Blue Bird) Little Moon “Tiikceya Ska Win” (White Tipi Woman).
