Funeral services for 56-year old Lois Kate Slow Bear of Oglala will be Thursday, May 23, 2019, at 11:00 in Brother Rene Hall in Oglala, SD, with Pastor Eric Sutton and Father Joe Daoust, S.J., officiating and traditional Lakota services by Mr Ivis Long Visitor and Mr Norbert Bell.

Burial will be at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Oglala.

A one-night wake will begin Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Brother Rene Hall in Oglala with rosary services starting at 7:00 PM.

Lois Kate Slow Bear was born on April 1, 1963 in Pine Ridge, SD to Roland Slow Bear and Doris Dreaming Bear and made her journey to the Spirit World on May 11, 2019 at the Rapid City Regional Health Home Plus Hospice in Rapid City, SD.

Lois is survived by her siblings, Lorna Lovato of Hot Springs, SD, Janet Tobacco and Judy Slow Bear both of Oglala, SD, Cordell Slow Bear of Hot Springs, SD, David Slow Bear of Sioux Falls, SD, and Norbert Bell of #4 Community; hunka daughter, Antonia Pulliam of Pine Ridge, SD; great granddaughter, Lois Kate Sitting Bear of Oglala, SD; hunka sister, Genevieve Chase In Winter of Oglala, SD; aunst, Rachel Chief Eagle of Pine Ridge, SD, Phyllis Dreaming Bear and Corrine Brave both of Oglala, SD; uncles, Calvert Dreaming Bear of Denver, CO and Delmer Dreaming Bear of #6 Community, Oglala, SD; and numerous nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.

Lois was preceded in death by her parents, Roland Slow Bear and Doris Dreaming Bear; significant other, Abel Good Voice Elk; brothers, Delbert Little Boy, Menford Slow Bear, Alvin Slow Bear, and Steven Slow Bear; sisters, Diane Little Boy; grandparents, Sophia Kate Catches, Herbert & Mary Dreaming Bear; and Agnes Chief; granddaughters, Alayah Aries High Hawk, Sunny Brooke High Hawk, and Makayla Tobacco; nephew, Narvel Tobacco; and niece, Angel Tobacco.
