Funeral services for Wynona Leora Bissell Kimble, age 93, will be at 10:00 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home in Gordon, NE.

Burial will be at 2:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2019 at the Hyannis Cemetery in Hyannis, NE.

Visitation will be at from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at
Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home in Gordon, NE.

A memorial has been established for the Hyannis Cemetery, and donations may be sent to Chamberlain-Pier Funeral Home, PO Box 366, Gordon, NE 69343.

Wynona passed away on June 15, 2019. She was born on May 17, 1926 in Hazard, NE to Edwin and Ora Fieldgrove Bissell.

She lived at Hazard until the age of 7. The family then moved to Thedford, NE. She went to high school in Thedford and graduated from Hyannis High School. She met the love of her life, Dale Kimble, and they were married November 23, 1944. She and Dale had three children together, Bill, Jeanne, and Jack. Dale and Wy worked on ranches in the Hyannis area before buying the Carl Jackson ranch south of Gordon in May 1962.

Wynona was known for being a fabulous cook and was her happiest when there was a bunch of people around her table. She had a huge heart and her door was always open to anyone; because of that, she was known as “grandma” by many. Although she loved to cook, can, and garden, her greatest joy in life were her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Wynona passed away peacefully at home on the ranch on June 15, 2019. She was preceded in death by husband Dale Kimble, son Bill, two brothers, two sisters and one grandchild.

Survivors include Jeanne (Danny) Finney of Gordon, NE, Jack Kimble of Rushville, NE, Courtney (Wes) Dolezal of Rushville, NE, their children Dirk and Dacee, Mindy Powell of St. Francis, KS and her children Harley, Becca, J.D., Kyler and Grace, Mandy Engler of North Platte, NE and her children Haillie and Lauren, Jay (Tina) Kimble of Bush, LA and their children Gavin, Gage, and Gabby, Melissa Snyder of Gordon, NE and her children Kayden, Logan and Brayden, Kristie (Robbie) Stumpff of Hemingford, NE and their children Jacobi and Jace and Devon (Cassie) Walker of Hyannis, NE.
