Memorial services for Christopher Carl Burton, age 49, will be at 12:00 PM on Friday, June 28, 2019 at the Little Wound School Big Gymnasium in Kyle, SD. Traditional Lakota services will be held.

Inurnment will be held at a later date.

A one-night wake service will begin at 1:00 PM on Thursday, June 27, 2019 at the Little Wound School Big Gymnasium in Kyle, SD. Services will start at 3:00 PM, and a Military, EMS, Fire, and Law Enforcement Roll Call will begin at 7:00 PM.

Christopher was a veteran in the U.S. Army.

Christopher was born on October 24, 1969 in Douglas, WY to Chester Carl Burton and Ann Marcella Benbo. He passed away on June 21, 2019 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.

Christopher is survived by children Meaghan (Tyler) Kephart, Asa (Ariel) Burton, and Stephen (Jasmine) Burton, all of Rapid City, SD, Ryan (Kyndall) Burton of Casper, WY, Spencer Burton of Douglas, WY, Bradlee Doyle of Wanblee, SD, and Marcus Kiewel of Rapid City, SD; mother Ann Benbo of Douglas, WY; brothers Victor Burton of Anchorage, AK, David Benbo of Douglas, WY, Ronald Benbo of Denver, CO, and Chester Burton Jr. of Sheridan, WY; sisters Rita Palmer of Sheridan, WY and Juanita Simmson of Buffalo, WY; grandchildren Christopher Kephart, Asher Kephart, Lylah Kephart, Abigail Thompson, Zachariah Bailey, Melody Gau, and Aiden Nelson; hunka siblings Leo Bald Eagle, Rachel Casuse, Theresa High Horse, Delbert Charging Crow, James Charging Crow, Marilyn Charging, Lynette Little Whiteman, and Joshua Charging Crow; soul mate Cheyenne Weston of Rapid City, SD; and Christopher’s EMT Partner Tate Locust of Rapid City, SD.

Christopher was preceded in death by father Chester Burton Sr.; stepfather Richard Benbo; grandparents Christina and Pascal Sanchez; hunka parents James and Eleanor Charging Crow; and hunka siblings Darlene Charging Crow, Eva Charging Crow, and Floyd Charging Crow.
