Funeral services for Donny Stephen Red Paint-Brown “Wiyaka Nunpa,” age 38, will be at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with Charles McGaa officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Mike Carlow.

Cremation will follow services. Burial will be held at a later date.

A two-night wake service will begin with the first night starting at 2:00 PM on Sunday, July 14, 2019 at the Wakpamni CAP Office in Pine Ridge, SD with prayer services at 7:00 PM. The second night will begin at 10:00 AM on Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Billy Mills Hall in Pine Ridge, SD with rosary services at 7:00 PM.

Donny was born on August 19, 1980 in Chadron, NE to Sarah (Red Paint) Brown Eyes and Garfield T. Brown Jr. He made his journey to the Spirit World on July 5, 2019 at the Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Donny is survived by mother Sarah (Red Paint) Brown Eyes; brothers Sean Brown Eyes and Lyric Brown Eyes; sisters Lori Red Paint and Elizabeth, Hope, Alexis, and Jayma Brown Eyes; sister-in-law Stella Brown Eyes; aunts Yolanda Red Paint & family, Bonnie Brown & family, Priscilla Yellow Horse & family, Hermenia Good Voice Flute & family, Monica Good Voice Flute & family, Joan Afraid of Bear & family, Avril Espinosa-Pulliam & family, Denise Brown Eyes & family, Doreen Brown & family, Justina Pettigrew & family, Marianne Poor Bear & family, Doreen Two Bulls & family, and Marcie One Feather & family; uncles Armando Red Paint & family, Dale & Angie Yellow Horse & family, Mark Bear Dog & family, Tammy Eagle Bull & Family, Doug Brown & family, Dave Brewer & family, Alan Brown & family, Harold (Sally)  Goings & family, Serena (Irv) Provost & family, Fred Brown & family, Richard Brown; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Donny was preceded in death by father Garfield T. Brown Jr.; stepfather Thomas N. Brown Eyes; brothers Thomas Brown Eyes Jr., Adam Brown Eyes, and Dustin Red Paint; sister Kimberly Brown Eyes; cousins Orien Two Bulls, Alicia Provost, Steven Brown Sr., Kristina Walking Eagle, Ruben Brown, and Orien Brown; paternal grandparents Garfield T. Brown Sr.,  Zona Brown, and Bernice Brown Eyes; maternal grandmothers Dorothy Red Paint, Darlene Kills Enemy, Phyllis One Feather, and Josephine Afraid of Bear; paternal uncles Elgin D. Brown Sr. and Lester W. Brown Sr.; paternal aunt Dorothy A. (Brown) Two Bulls; and maternal aunt Dalora Kills Enemy.

Pallbearers will be Dale Pine Sr., Austin Backward Jr., Doug Brown, Purvis Kills Enemy, Alan Brown Sr., Alex Two Lance Sr., Bill Morrison Sr. and Juan Espinosa Jr.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Mike Carlow & family, Tracey Walking, Rexanne Holy Dance & Family, Dale Yellow Horse, Pine Ridge High School Class of 1999, and all Friends & Relatives.
