A Mass of Christian Burial for Ryan Jason Parisien “Wakiyan Hanska” (Tall Thunder), age 44, will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 3, 2019 at the Porcupine School Gym in Porcupine, SD with Father Edmund Yainao, S.J., and Bill White officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Ty Lunderman. The Drum Group will be Knife Chief.

Burial will be at the Christ the King Catholic Cemetery, O.L.L. School Campus, in Porcupine, SD.

A two-night wake service will start at 3:00 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Porcupine School Gym in Porcupine, SD. Prayer services will start at 7:00 PM on Thursday evening and rosary services will start at 7:00 PM on Friday evening.

Ryan was born on January 10, 1975 in Bismarck, ND to Charles “Jay” Parisien and Lonee Marie Gapp. He made his journey to the Spirit World on July 25, 2019 in Rapid City, SD.

Ryan is survived by father Charles “Jay” (Rosayln) Parisien; mother Lonee Marie Gapp; children Taylor Brooks, Gabriel Brooks, and Gunner Parisien; sister Andrea Fenner; maternal grandmother Velma Gapp; and numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Grandparents, and Cousins.

Ryan was preceded in death by paternal grandparents Charles A. Parisien and Alyce G. (Iron Cloud) Parisien; and maternal grandfather Francis Gapp.

Pallbearers will be Flint Tall Sr., Jesse Davis, Cole Parisien, Robin Tuttle, Ronald Kills Warrior, Wayne Mitchell Keplin, Dennis White Thunder, and Jason Living Good.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Sheldon Olson, Kurt Olerud, Teddy McCarthy, Jordan Red Cloud, Beau White, Mark Koenen, Jonas Wounded Foot and All Friends & Relatives.
