Funeral services for Frank Wendell Helper IV “Wicasa Tis’Tila” (Little Man), age 49, will be at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 23, 2019 at the Medicine Wheel Sundance Grounds in Porcupine, SD. All Prayer Leaders are welcome. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Dave Swallow Jr.

Cremation will follow services. Burial will be held at a later date.

A one-night wake service will begin at 12:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at the Medicine Wheel Sundance Grounds in Porcupine, SD.

Frank was born on March 28, 1970 in Rapid City to Frank Helper III and Mary Belle Mexican. He made his journey to the Spirit World on August 16, 2019 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

When he was young, Frank was a fun-loving, adventurous person who loved the outdoors, camping, and traveling. He enjoyed reading books, playing video games, spending time with family, and attending Sundances and dancing at powwows. Frank was a big Broncos fan. He had a lot of friends and enjoyed spending time with them as well. Frank will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Frank is survived by sisters Bridgette Helper of Denver, CO, Nyla Swallow of Porcupine, SD, Donna Helper of Red Shirt, SD, and Coretta Head of Montbello, CO; adopted brother Terrance Good Road of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Frank was preceded in death by parents Frank Helper III and Mary Belle Mexican; grandparents Charlie Mexican and Dorothy Afraid of Hawk; brothers Monolito Julius Helper-Johnson and Andre Head; and sister Leola Head.

Pallbearers will be Quentin Two Crow Sr., Ulysses Two Crow Sr. Dave Swallow III, Leo Swallow Sr., Misun Iron Cloud, Lloyd Helper, Jered Jealous, and Donny Marquez.

Honorary pallbearers will be Calvin White Butterfly, Terrance Good Road, Wayne Center, John Wilkinson Jr., All Sundancers, Friends and Relatives.
