Funeral services for Edward Louis Vocu Jr., age 33, will be at 1:00 PM on Saturday, October 5, 2019 at the Little Wound School Small Gym in Kyle, SD with Father Ron Seminara, S.J., officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Sheldon Two Crow.

Burial will be at the Vocu Family Cemetery at Three Mile Creek near Kyle, SD.

A one-night wake service will begin at 3:00 PM on Friday, October 4, 2019 at the Little Wound School Gym Small Gym in Kyle, SD with prayer services starting at 7:00 PM at the school.

Edward Jr. was born on March 12, 1986 in Rapid City, SD to Edward L. Vocu Sr. and Roberta O’Rourke. He made his journey to the Spirit World on September 26, 2019 at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, SD.

Edward Jr. is survived by mother Roberta (Lester Larvie) O’Rourke of Rapid City, SD; children Isabella Vocu, Bailey Vocu, and Danilo Vocu, all of Rapid City, SD; significant other Amy Schrenk of Rapid City, SD; siblings Louis Vocu of Kyle, SD, Melissa Vocu of Rapid City, SD, Lauren (Romeo) Martinez of Worthington, MN, and Katrina Vocu of Bozeman, MT; uncles Ray O’Rourke of Pine Ridge, SD, Loren Two Crow, Dean Two Crow, and Dale Vocu, all of Kyle, SD, and Donnie Vocu of Sidney, NE; aunts Carol Ferguson, Marie Vocu, Theresa Vocu, and Lori Vocu, all of Kyle, SD; nieces Aliya Dupris, Aja Ortiz, Ariley Ortiz, Shammay Ortiz, Levaya Martinez, and Eleesa Martinez; and nephew Shammuel Ortiz.

Edward was preceded in death by father Edward L. Vocu Sr; grandparents Helen and Melvin Vocu, Sherline Two Crow, and Robert O’Rourke; great-grandparents Francis and Lucy Two Crow; and aunts Wildean Yellow Horse and Connie Vocu.

Pallbearers will be Marcus Salway, Tony Running Shield, Cole Returns, Randy Dupris, Maurice Vocu, Romeo Guevara-Esquivel, Devaughn Pearson, and Nick Thome.

Honorary pallbearers will be all friends and relatives.
