Funeral services for Emery McCoy Red Feather Jr. “Cante Wasagaya Mani” (He Walks with a Strong Heart), age 57, will be at 2:00 PM on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the Pass Creek CAP Office in Allen, SD with Pastors Tim and Kim Wardell officiating. Traditional Lakota services will be provided by Steve DuBray and Justin Poor Bear.

Burial will be at the Porcupine Presbyterian Cemetery in Porcupine, SD.

A one-night wake service will begin at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 6, 2019 at the Pass Creek CAP Office in Allen, SD with evening services starting at 7:00 PM.

Emery was born on April 8, 1962 in Kyle, SD to Emery Red Feather Sr. and Lucille Jealous of Him. He made his journey to the Spirit World on September 30, 2019 at the Hospice of the Hills in Rapid City, SD.

Emery Jr. is survived by children Francis (Heskawin Shot) Red Feather of Rapid City, SD, Emery (Tateyua Four Winds) McCoy Red Feather III of Porcupine, SD, Heather (Rulon) Red Feather of Pine Ridge, SD, Emerson (Juanita White Plume) Red Feather of Manderson, SD, and Eddie Red Feather of Manderson, SD; wife Riva Red Feather of Wakpamni Lake, Wakpamni, SD; stepchildren Tuki (Travis Keister) Lone Elk of Kyle, SD, Tasina (Eric Rojas) Lone Elk of Washington state, Chris Lone Elk of #4 Community near Pine Ridge, SD, Chauntae Lone Elk of North Dakota, McGavyne Lone Elk of Kyle, SD, Annaliese Iron Bear of Wakpamni Lake, Wakpamni, SD, and Keya Rojas of Washington State; mother-in-law Genevieve Chase In Sight & Family of the #4 Community; hunka children Jackson and Echo Tail of Rapid City, SD and Janice Sitting Bear Shuckahosee of Allen, SD; siblings Margie (John) Sanchez & family of Alliance, NE and Jeff (Pam) Sitting Bear Sr. & family of Oneida, WI; grandchildren Leilani Michelle Shopteese, Emmaleigh Red Feather, Patrick Ryce Big Eagle, Samuel Joseph Red Feather, Hayven, Kenna and Hailey Waters, Kylan Red Feather, Peta, Francesca, and Lucille Frances Red Feather, Dakota Tail, and Amelia Shot; nieces Carrie, Jessica and Mary Jo Sanchez, all of Alliance, NE and Luci Red Feather & family of Sioux Falls, SD; and nephews Oliver Red Feather & family of Sioux Falls, SD, Ernie Red Feather of Rockyford, SD, and John (Georgia Hornbeck) Red Feather.

Emery Jr. was preceded in death by parents Emery Red Feather Sr. and Lucille Jealous of Him; daughter Kendra Red Feather; and siblings Patrick, Timothy, and Delvina Red Feather and Rita Running Bear.

Pallbearers will be: Leonard Chase Alone, Sr., Sam Locke, Davis Ghost, Sam Jealous of Him, Jim Cross, Harlan Garnette, Spencer Rouillard, Mitchell Long, Gayle Last Horse, Richard Toledo-Janis, Craig Mousseaux, Mike Cross and Jonathan Yellow Hawk.
